QTP has built in wait time to allow for synchronisation. Those settings can be found in the following locations.
Test Settings > Web tab
Browser navigation timeout. This defaults to 60 seconds
Test Settings > Run tab
The Object synchronization timeout is set here
Although these are Local test settings, meaning the values will not be used in all subsequent tests, there is a Generate Script option on the Properties tab which can be run as a pre requisite scrip or set-up script to ensure all tests use these settings.
For web objects QTP waits for the amount of time set in Browser navigation timeout option, plus the time set for the Object synchronization timeout before timing out.
